New Zealand will return to the World Junior Girls Golf Championship for the first time in 12 years when Teresa Wang, Amy Tang and Juwon Kim tee it up in Canada this week.
The Golf New Zealand trio will compete at Brampton Golf Club in Ontario, with the 72-hole championship running from September 30 to October 3.
The tournament brings together 72 leading junior golfers representing 23 countries, with both individual and team honours on the line.
Each nation fields three players, with the two lowest scores counting towards the team total in each round.
For New Zealand, the week marks a long-awaited return to the championship, having last competed at the inaugural edition in 2014.
Wang, Tang and Kim head to Canada after strong performances throughout the 2026 season and now get the opportunity to test themselves against some of the world’s leading junior talent.
The Republic of Korea will be chasing a third consecutive team title after winning the past two championships, while Brampton Golf Club hosts the event for the second time following its previous staging in 2023.
There is also a major incentive in the individual competition, with the champion earning an exemption into the 2027 CPKC Women’s Open.
The opening round begins on Wednesday in Canada — Thursday NZT — with the championship concluding on Saturday local time.
For Wang, Tang and Kim, the tournament represents another important international opportunity as New Zealand returns to one of the leading events on the junior golf calendar.
